A little steam logging

February 11, 2008 09:29AM
On Jan. 11, 2008 we had a big storm in Felton CA. It brought down a 4' diameter Redwood and a 3' diameter Douglas Fir on the Roaring Camp. They were too big to remove by hand and the only way to reach them is by train so we had to use a locomotive to get them off the track.
The pictures were taken with a cell phone by Chris Butler the fireman.
One of the saws we used to cut the trees into manageble chunks.
