Re: Abandonment of C&S Buena Vista-Hancock Branch?

The first abandonment on the branch was the 2.5 mi. section between Romley & Hancock. This happened during 1915. The turntable was moved from Gunnison to Romley during that summer. Operations ceased on the remainder of the branch on October 3, 1924, and formally abandoned on October 11, 1924. Track was taken up in 1926, being completed on November 15.

I hope this helps.

Donald Foster
