I hope your friend is correct and it is not a repeat. OPB spent a couple days with us, starting with Hostling on Friday afternoon. Their camera crew seemed to be having more fun than some of us, although that may be hard to imagine. The OPB crew acted as if they had discovered gold in Sumpter Valley. If they show 8 to 10 minutes per show, once per year, I figure they will still be airing segments on SVRy for many years to come.
I remember a few years ago a camera crew spent the weekend with us taping for a Bill Moyers NPR program on railroading. The cameraman kept telling us he couldn't believe that we were not in more movies and TV programs. He was certain he had "discovered" the SVRy. Alas, we never heard from him again. The program did have a few minutes of SVRy train scenes. They lit a fire along side the track on the east side of Huckleberry Lp. Rd., scattered a few track tools about and spent a lot of time filming the scene. The fire scene was used several times in the Moyers special.
