Due to weather conditions, the dispatcher will assign a tonnage factor in determining how much the locomotives will actually be able to handle on the grade, meaning that each car will be considered to more than it actually does. In this case a tonnage factor of 4 was used (4 x 20 cars = 80 tons). Employee timetables will generally have a section on this.
