Can you confirm that this is the case? Someone is reporting on the Santa Fe list that he has not passed away, though he is seriously ill. He reports that his source for this information is a "friend at Trains who contacted people in KC".
I had (have) the greatest respect for Lloyd Stagner. He was (is) a real gentleman and scholar.
