Hello, again -
As always, a very nice photo! Like most photographers, I like the late-afternoon light. And from what I can see at that angle, the tender looks fine to me. You should know by now that I'm not a purist; so long as paint, logos, etc. are in keeping with the
spirit of the Age of Steam - and especially if reflecting a new owner rather than an exact museum replication - a tasteful touch of color, stylish lettering, etc. are O-K with me just so long as its not overdone. Of course, "overdone" is in the eye of the beholder. Besides, I doubt that "Uncle
Pete Scrooge" would let them letter it 'Southern Pacific' even if they wanted to.

p.s. I just received a CD of cowboy songs from Ed Stabler; he sings and plays guiter really well. IIRC, Skip has played & sung with several groups - including a time or two with John McEuen (of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) - so the "WARNING" on my previous message is applicable only if they let me join in. But if you drink all the beers I owe you, I'll probably sound pretty good too - or at least tolerable - by the end of the evening ...
