People sometimes forget details like that when doing a restoration. Rotary OM was repainted a fews years ago in Chama in the red scheme. It never was in red with the tender that is currently behind it.
The tender currently behind it was the original tender off Uintah #30 then came to the D&RGW as water car W-499. It was used heavily as a dual gauge idler between Alamosa and Antonito. The tender was put behind OM in 1962 (I believe) so never would have been red. The much smaller tender for OM must have been scrapped at that time. You can always spot the little tender because it had to have two tender frames stacked on top of each other to reach the same height as the apron of the rotary.
