Some additional info: The loco was owned by Scenic Railways who moved it from Hawaii to their operation at Lake Tahoe, and thence to the Cumbres & Toltec when Scenic became the operator of that line. From what I remember it was restored to operation with the intent of using it on the C&TS. Reportedly they did one operational test and it did not have the power to even get itself and a caboose out of the Chama yard. Another example of a good intent gone bad.
