I think there may be another connection between Hamilton and the White Pass.
When I visited the White Pass in 1976, I met with the (I believe the title was) assistant superintendent at Skagway. At that time they had an assistant at both Skagway and Whitehorse; one in the US and one in Canada.
The gentlemen I talked with was named Hamilton. And he told me he was the brother of Fred Hamilton who was (at that time) the Trains Magazine advertising manager.
I looked in my files and could not find the correspondence prior to my trip. As I recall, I wrote to the Seattle office and was told that I should contact Mr. Hamilton in Skagway. The letter would have his first name.
