I'm not sure if this helps any but this is what I did for oil pipes in G scale.
We use heat shrink tubing to simulate oil pipe. I picked up this idea from one of the talented modelers working on the
Del Oro Pacific. The modeler was using AMS flat cars and AMS gondolas, all in 1:20.3 scale so they should work great for you too.
We run 1:22.5 but this method still worked great. It even comes in a perfect black/grey color. Just cut to your desired length. One tip though, the tubing usually comes flat not round. So we inserted wood skewers into the heat shrink tubing and dumped them in very hot water. We then took the skewer out and the pipe retained the round shape of the skewer.
