Pipes and pipe gons for Farmington

December 08, 2007 08:00AM
Gang,
I know eveyone just hates it when some dummmy asks a question answered a zillion times before, but here are they are again. Sorry. I'll try to keep them to the point. Naturally, I'm thinking of doing a short pipe train in 1/20, so... here goes.

How long were the pipes on average?
Were they all pretty much the same or were there several standard lengths and diameters?
What were the were made of?
What was / were the OD?
Wall thickness or ID?
How many per gon?
How were they stacked? Upon themselves or were there some sort of cradles / shoring used? Banded? Chained down? Or?
Lastly, looking for a source for photos, especially of the car ends, that would show how the pipes were stacked and secured.
No rush, thanx in advance, Gary
