Wow, New Guy, What a lively discussion you started. Hang in there, one of these days you're going to say to yourself " These 4 classes of K's are really unique compared with each other, how could I ever have mistaken them." Then you're going to start seeing that all locos in each class are different from each other. No matter how long you study them, there is always something new to learn. Good luck.

On the left side of the opening page there is a category called "Other Stuff on D&RGW .net" left click on that. Then scroll down and click on "Trip Reports". Scroll down and click on "2001 Trip Reports. Scroll down and click on "A Day on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic". There are a few good pics of a Triple header led by K27 #463, K 37 #497, and K 36, 489. Seeing all three classes in one frame makes it easier to see the differences.
