I'm not attempting to "fool" anyone! I suppose I should have made it clear that it is electric. Do you Think those tiny wires would carry enough current to move 600 pounds of loco? Actually they are merely tempory speaker wires strung out for testing.

Your guess is good though, the model will be powered by electric but not by those wires. They will replaced by #12 stranded wire to power the 200 watt speaker hidden in the steam dome for the playable whistle and pop valve sounds.

The exaust will come from the stack as it should. don't read me wrong I love live steam, And I get to run them, but I wanted the convenience of putting it on the track, flipping a switch,and chugging merrily down the track. Shutting her down is easy too.

A 70 amp. two HP direct current motor will be the prime mover, fueled by four deep cycle marine batteries in the tender. With two 12v batteries in the boiler for sound and lights.
