A long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I lived in Anaheim and went to college in Fullerton. In those days, I spent many mornings in Knotts. Parking was free, as was entry. There was hardly anyone around in the mornings, like it was abandoned. I would find a comfortable seat and do some assigned reading or wander around the trains, etc. There was a pretty good model RR hobby shop in the old western town. A narrow gauge set of tracks wandered through the parking lot but I never saw anything on it. It wasn't part of the real NG system, but probably some sort of tram for the parking lot. Wish I had taken lots of pictures.
I once had a chance to work there as a "train robber" but had a schedule conflict. I've always regretted not being able to list "train robber" on my job applications.
