No El Curmudgeono, not an esthetic judgement, that my 36's and 37's were too fat, that was a real world FACT to me. When building my first HOn3 layout, I jumped right in without knowing anything about HOn3 NMRA standards. Handlaid a yard with 40 feet of track and a dozen turnouts, with nothing on the rails to judge clearances but a E&B Valley Long caboose. Well, as most everybody in the world, including me knows now that a D&RGW long caboose is NOT the widest thing on the D&RGW narrow gauge, I contemplated ripping-out months of hand laid track and turnouts, OR, being very careful where I was and what was on adjacent trackage, before cruising around the yard with My PFM K37's or WSM K36's. El whatever, if you been there done that you should know better, there are many more realities than the "real world" in Chama. "Too fat" is "too fat" when you're knocking stuff off of adjacent trackage.
