Billy, JoJo and Lake ate a hearty dinner of Punk's famous stew in the crummy. They took turns telling Punk and Jonesy, the rear brakie, about their trip up and down the mountain. Punk and Jonesy had full plates of stew, but did not eat a drop as they sat there rivited to the story of the German and the ghost train.

After all of Punk and Jonesy's questions were answered, the three men laid down and took a two hour nap. Punk woke them just before trains 3 and 4 arrived for their meet at Burning Switch. All five men climbed aboard and found a place to sleep in the rear coach of the mixed train. Billy heard the Conductor Stevenson on No. 4 complaining to he agent in the depot as to why hew was not informed of hte meet he had with the extra freight at the old logging spur halfway down the mountain. The agent knew nothing of the extra freight Stevenson was ranting and raving about. Billy did not say a word as he claimed his bench seat and curled up to sleep. They would be in Helana in the morning and he need more sleep after the day they had.
