Hi Doug,
The enclosed photos show my D&RGW 3000 series box car in 1.5" scale.
I used oak wood for the frame and poplar for the tongue & groove siding. Patterns were made for all of the detail parts and were cast in brass using the lost wax process. I haven't painted it yet, I just can't bring myself to do. I am currently working on drawings for this car which will have all the details drawn and dimensioned. The Rio Grande 3000 series used two different door styles, one with a plain door, simular as it was originally built and the other more modern framed door added when the cars were rebuilt in the 1920s. The plain door used a Z shaped door track and the framed door used a T shaped track. The door trollys were different on these different style doors also. Most of the door hardware used on the box cars was from the Camel Co. I will send another message with two more photos.
