Re: LAST DAY AT EAST BROAD TOP

This is by no means an accurate gauge of the entire year, but attendance at the Fall Spectacular was very good (down a little from last year's record), and most trains were near capacity. I was at the railroad 6 weekends throughout the year, and most of the trains were well-patronized. I know nothing about profits or losses.

As far as preservation and restoration projects, the FEBT continues work on the exterior of the foundry and the machine shop's southern walls. The rebuild of side dump hopper 802 for ballast service is nearly complete, and significant progress has been made on converting steel boxcar 168 into another open car similar to 175 for service while combine 14 undergoes restoration.

Here are some pics I took of the progress on the south wall of the machine shop:

This was my first year of volunteering, and I can't wait to get back at it smiling smiley Every little bit makes a difference.
