I cleared the cache on my computer and then clicked on the link to your page.
It took just 5 seconds shy of SIX MINUTES to download your two photos!?!?! The photo of Jay's freight that Earl posted late Saturday evening is about the same size, and it downloaded in less than 30 seconds ...
Having now looked at both pictures in their entirety, I strongly agree with the majority that "B" is the better choice. Not only is there more drama with the swirling smoke and steam, there is also more variety in the color of the leaves. There is better light on the smokebox front and the train itself shows up better in "A", but the large man-made highway cut in the background makes it difficult to imagine that the train is anything but a modern recreation. A herd of elk (not BPOE members), natural cliffs, the old cabins at Lobo Lodge / Dalton, the water tower at Cresco - any of these would IMHO make a better background.
