Yes, #5 is back out of Ken Kukuk's "West Side Locomotive Works" shop after receving a new boiler, new plumbing, an air pump overhaul, and lots of other little things that needed attention.

The high mineral content water of the Santa Cruz mountains was not kind to her previous boiler and it was decided to replace rather than to repair. The new boiler has three times as many washouts as the old one.

#5 returned to steam the day before the Railfest. She put in thee good days of running during the Railfest weekend and has been put into service a couple of times since then to break her in and get the bugs out.

Soon #5 will be back on GSP&P rails.

Cheers,
