Hi PRR, my last trip to Central America was in 1994 and the next will be in Ausgust 2001. Lost contact to one of the shop workes in La Ceiba which keeps me informed some 4 years ago. Do not know what happened to the Shay , but have heard the rumors too. In August we will trace some tracks of engines of the old 914 mm Barbados RR in Brazil and Ecuador (A friend of mine from Barbados will bring at leat one or two back to the Carribean as an tourist attraction). Hope to vist Honduras and Guatemala too. A fiend is now in Chile to trace some old German steamer in he Atacama desert which had been sold to a sulphur mine in the late 2Oies. Saw some pix from 1997 on which two of them were in a quite good shape.
