I have been preparing a series of photographs describing the activities of those noble volunteers of the fall of 1970 who gave so wonderfully of their time, efforts, skills and finances, to give birth to what is now the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad.
I had planned to debut this series on another web site, but have reluctantly chosen to leave that web site, for reasons that I will not detail here...but my leaving is permanent.
My question is the degree of interest that is here on this web site,... to post these images and tell this story.
Those volunteers, like John Prichard, Terry Ross, Hugh Fowler, Ernie Robart, the late Bob Burggraaf, and your's truly, made the C&TS a reality, today.. Truly...it was the birth of the C&TS.
If there is interest,(as posted here,) I will start to prepare the pictures, posting a few each week with the narration, to give those interested....a feeling about what it was like, in that crisp, sunny, fall of 1970..at the beginning...before the snow fell.
