This morning around milepost 334 the railroad had a fire, because of the wind and dry grass it was more than the fire patrol could handle. A quick reaction by the C&T prevented a disaster. Train Crews, shop personal, management, and a RGRPC board member all with shovels and rakes were able to get it under control before the fire trucks from Antonito & Chama arrived. A great job and a lot of hard physical work definitely prevented a disaster. Thanks to all the folks for the quick response and hard work.
