This project is not really geared towards extensive operations since our equipment can be moved back to the Sumpter Valley RR and be used in photo freights. The focus is really more on railcar restorations so we only have a homebuilt critter on site to handle the movement of the railcars.
However, we also have a 1908 Porter pneumatic locomotive originally built for the Hosmer Mines Company that was located in the Crowsnest Pass area of British Columbia. It is currently operational but needs a cab built for it and some other finishing touches.
A number of people in the Northwest that own smaller 3 ft. gauge locomotives have expressed an interest in bring their engines to Brooks so we may see a few different steam engines running around the loop during the big Powerland Heritage Park “Steam Up” events that usually feature a large number of traction engines, but of course we need to build the track first.
