Hi Ryan,
You have a good memory, better than mine. I checked out an old video [
youtu.be] (Aug. 2000) shop tour of mine and looks like stall 4 has a timber pit. It doesn't show and I don't remember open pits in 5 and 6.The video at 10:10 shows 486 from back door on pit 9. I don't think the back track is often used as the rails are covered in with coal fines. I remember someone spent a day digging out for the flanges so an engine could be pulled out there. So, 486 is on stall 9 pulled in straight for service, all others are backed in. 480 is on stall 8, 482 is on 7 that goes +- 30' into machine shop, 473 gets turned on table in the dark and is spotted on stall 6. 478 is on 5, 481 is on 4. Stall 3 is for tender repairs and 1 and 2 have no tracks and are welding areas.
