To help in building a G scale model of a 2-6-2 narrow gauge Prairie locomotive, I obtained several erecting drawing from the Baldwin archives at the DeGolyer Library. The drawings include a profile as well as cross section views. In modern engineering practice, cross section views are marked on the profile drawing with a vertical or horizontal line with arrows at the end points indicating the direction of view. Back at the start of the twentieth century apparently that was not the practice. The cross sections on the extreme right and left of the Baldwin drawing are end views looking forward and aft respectively. But does anyone have an idea how I can determine the cross section locations and view direction between the ends?
Any help appreciated, Phil
