Photo DPL RR-1000. This I believe is what is referred to as Juke's Rock, or so I was told. Not only did Robert Richardson photograph it but also Frank Barry photographed it from the opposite side (D&RGW loco 499 scaring cattle on the tracks) in the 1960 when he lived in or near Chama. I found this formation on Google Earth, or so it appears to be the same. One goal on my bucket list is to visit this site after seeking permission to hike down the grade. My interest is how tight the curves are in this area, a unique feature that is only found in this area between Durango and Chama.
