As far as I know, GW No. 51 is still located at the Hudson, CO facility along with the other rail cars owned by Mr. Birmingham. The locomotive received a complete FRA 1472/15 year inspection over 10 years ago. The intent was to have it available for any potential movie or commercial work and could be operated on any railroad as needed. As far as I know, other than a test fire after completion of the FRA work, it has not been used or under steam since.
