My good friend Jerry Day sent these photos to me. Nice view of the 476 at the scene of a MOW crew securing the ROW, this shows a good example of one of the dozers used by the D&RGW. The other views are of more recent times on the C&TS and D&SNG. The use of dozers and excavators is crucial in keeping the lines open on the current NG operations. Can't see it in Jerry's photo but flat car 6531 has been modified on one end with a permanent ramp to allow the dozer to simple drive off the flat car without having to build a ramp or unload one. In the D&RGW days there was a large wooden portable ramp which was used. All photos were taken by Jerry Day except the picture of 476 which is a John Norwood photo. Of note the Flanger train on the C&TS was from 1973 while the shot of the 473 and Flanger is from earlier this year (2017) on the D&SNG. Jerry was one of only a few to chase this unique train out of Durango. Enjoy.
