This image nicely shows how long the trains were back in DRGW days. This is probably about 70 cars, the max the DRGW allowed. It is amazing that trains held together, given the number of cars with old wooden underframes. And of course some didn't, it was not uncommon along the ROW to find the remains of an old car that gave its all. The picture was taken at about MP316.2 after Gordon Chappell and I walked in from Osier. The end of the train appears to be still exiting Rock Tunnel. September 1964.
