John, you bring up good points, but I'm glad that many celebrated the anniversary of the birth of the C&TS. That to me was as much or more to celebrate! It certainly was a much more heroic effort.

In other words, I'm glad people focused on the good rather than the not so good. And remember, there were several "last trains." Yes, next August is the anniversary of the last freight. But then there was the NPS train, and the shuttle of 473 and 481 west to Durango.

Your point is well taken. But I'm glad the staff is focusing on 2018, and not 1968. Maybe 168 will be close to being hot by the anniversary!
