I think that when it comes to re-creations, unless there is operable power of a type representative of the railroad involved, the chances of it happening are pretty much nil. It is one thing to re-letter an existing, operable engine such as 315 or 463 for a one-time event. It is quite another to restore a park engine to FRA Form 4 standards. The latter would only occur if there were a long-term use for such an engine, the current ownership would agree to it and of course, the funds were available to make it happen. The first two prerequisites are far easier to come by than the latter one. Guys like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet could look at ideas such as this one as realistic possibilities. The rest of us will have to be content with dreams.
