According to what old heads have told me, and this is confirmed by the old map, One headed north from Lumberton to Edith (probably on the grade of the Rio Grande & Pagosa Springs) then west - ish to the road running from Juanita to Chromo.

As there are pics taken at Navajo Tank, there must have been some sort of road back into there.
