"Attacked" could be a bit too strong a word, Hank -
May I suggest "rendered" instead? For a photo or two of said band, see [

p.s. In the olden days of my youth (my early and mid-sixties, about ten years ago) I used to attack listeners' ears when playing third rub-board with our local Cajun/Zydeco band.
* Said "instrument" is sometimes incorrectly referred to as a 'wash-board', but that's its proper name only when being used to attack clothes, not ears.
* 'Acadiana', with lead fiddler Phil Salazar, former CA State Fiddle Champion. (The band was once mis-introduced as 'The Macadamia Nuts, with Pete Saladbar'!?!?!) Here's Phil's rendition of 'Cherokee Fiddler' by Michael Martin Murphy - a song about Silverton's famous fiddler, complete with some of Phil's own video of the D&S in the background
