And here's a map showing what we're talking about. The red circle indicates the Stony Clove & Catskill Mountain/Kaaterskill in the context of the Ulster & Delaware system as well as Hudson River steamboat connections. The map is undated but appears to be from after the SC&CM/Kaaterskill were standard gauged by the U&D in 1899. (Though the New York Central & Hudson River and Delaware & Hudson for example are clearly labelled, the competing NYO&W is conveniently omitted from the bottom left quadrant of the map!)
The lines immediately to the north and east are the narrow gauge Catskill & Tannersville, Otis Elevating, and Catskill Mountain RRs. The SC&CM/Kaaterskill had a connection to the Catskill & Tannersville at Kaaterskill (with limited through service!) from 1893 to 1898, but this was severed when the SC&CM/Kaaterskill was standard gauged in 1899. (NB the modern SG Catskill Mountain RR based in Kingston, NY is actually the old U&D!)
