Thank you Bob. The majority or hunters are responsible individuals who neither trespass on nor vandalize private property, or any property for that matter. Neither do they shoot up signs. Rifles are sighted in safely on a range or other safe place, then used to legally and humanely harvest game animals. It's unfortunate that many who rightly disapprove of signs being shot up tend to criticize all hunters for the damage. These people are much like (some) land owners who blame all railfans for trespassing on private property, when only a minority of railfans are guilty. Franky, I believe the railfan community is seemingly doing as hunters have done for years and is beginning to police itself. Unfortunately, there are some who call themselves hunters and/or railfans who lack respect for the property of others.
BTW, I quite agree that a soft-nosed bullet fired from a .30-30 would not penetrate a one-inch thick piece of steel.
