K-36 zen, firebox and boiler

Been working on the firebox and boiler - finished the basic shapes for the 2 sections of the boiler, steam dome, throat sheet, inner firebox shell with tube sheet, outer firebox shell, backhead, and mud ring.



Did a little riveting, will redo most to show the inner half of the rivets. Will do staybolts (!!!) and outer staybolt details. Gotta tweak the throat sheet a little. Doing most of the inner details so I can do a cut-away at some point. Oh, lets not forget the grates and rockers, fire bricks and brick tubes.



Still need plate work in front of steam dome and side plates with rivets, various studs and plugs, air tank-compressor-running board brackets, firebox door and backhead studs and hardware.



Yeah, not too much more...

Next up, I've done the frame crosstie between 3 and 4 driver (the others with slight difference will be based on this one as a starting point), will show alone as well as in context. Was almost done with the rear footplate but got stalled, will resume. Front footplate promises to be a bear, but looking forward to the cylinder casting.

Now if I can stay motivated, more to come...
