Hi, All -
Michael, Scott, the two Nathans, Dave-from-Ohio, Steve, Jim, Peter, the JèBéWêX and nearly everyone else on the Springtime excursion got better photos than I did. In fact, I really boo-boo'd at the first run-by and chopped off #489's pilot just as she passed over The Troll's fancy new digs at m.p. 287.5, so I'm posting the previous frame.
I'm posting these
three {now five} and the ones that follow mainly because I promised to send some prints to a couple of the 'green paint fund' donors who couldn't join us for the trip, and need to let them choose which ones they'd like copies of – so here are the first three. (Plus two more, since the NGDF has upped the attachment limit to five in the meanwhile.)
Whistling for the crossing at Main Street - Trollhausen, Co.
:
Approaching Lava Tank
:
Lava Tank, where the troll reached up out of the sand and grabbed my ankle (added 05/25/20)
:
Milepost 294.2, approximately - an impromptu run-by where brush needs to be cleared from the right-of-way
:
. . . and a bit farther on, where there's a fill at the apex of the curve that I had hoped to shoot, but we rolled about 1/4 mile too far
:
The somewhat eccentric & cranky (per his avatar) Steve Forney shot an EXCELLENT video at this curve a couple of years later — see his YouTube link at [
ngdiscussion.net].
. . . to be continued.
