Does anyone recall seeing a chalk board at Chama?
Durango had one in a room on the south side of the roundhouse. It was a large wood sheet, maybe 7' x 14', painted black, with grid design marked off in yellow. Top squares from left to right were lettered ... TRAIN, ENG's, CAB's, CONDUCTOR, BRAKEMAN, BRAKEMAN, ENGINEER, ENGINEER, FIREMAN, FIREMAN, etc.
You could walk into this room and see what time a crew was called or when a Farmington or Silverton turn went out, therefore look for the returning train.
I don't recall ever seeing such a chalk board at Chama, but that doens't mean one didn't exist. The Depot waiting room has an original (replica ?) for the passenger train times.
