Tom,
I have flown over the Yellow Pine railroad for many years. The line is still quite visible from the ground as well. It ran in pretty much of a straight line from Jean, Nv. to Goodsprings, and then it made a large "S" turn before coming into town. From Goodsprings it then ran northwest toward the mine.
Someone esle mentioned to take a look at Myrick's books on the Railroad of Nevada, vol 2. He has quite a little discussion on the Yellow Pine. Also, there were two other narrow gauge railroads in the southern Nevada area. One ran here in the Las Vegas valley carrying gypsum. It was known as the Arden Plaster RR. The other ran out of Seachlight, Nevada to the Colorado river.
Hope this helps.
