Gondola Variations

New Inquiry:
We had a lot of discussion a while back on the variations in cars and there was or is an excellent discription of some of them on the RGS information web site but I was looking through R Robbs Volumn 3 for something else and noticed several pictures of six (6) stake gondolas which I think came from the side dump cars and two of the pictures were from the mid 1940,s. I had assumed that they were gone by that time. They were both 9000 series cars, with 6 stakes and inset ends. Were any of these cars left at the end of operations and were they in revenue service in the 1940's or relegated to work service?
