Well said Linn! The locos we know and love today wouldn't be same without there OG boilers. If you restored/rebuilt a steam loco and replaced the boiler, built a new tender and frame, replaced the cab, wheels side rods head light air pumps ect. All you have left thats original is the frame of the loco. Wow that just makes a nifty replica with 10% of the original loco. In that case I would rather see all the original parts in a museum.

Linn when you build the new smokebox will it look clean or will it have fake patches to look like the ones on the old smokebox from the RGS days?
