New narrow gauge cars

October 21, 2007 07:10AM
Greetings from Edwards Rail Car Co. We are pleased to announce that the newly formed Andean Railway Corp. has placed an order for two narrow gauge (914mm) Model-20, self-propelled motor rail cars. We anticipate 6 more cars for ARC. These cars will operate between Cusco and Machu Picchu, Peru. A first for Edwards will be windows in the roof and the length of the car being 60ft, with seating capacity of 60 passengers. These cars will be powered via hydrostatic drive, another first for Edwards. In the history of ERC, 1921-1942 and 1997-2007, Edwards has sold 145 cars to 51 different railroads in the Western Hemisphere. Export sales to Latin American railroads accounted for 46 cars however, never to any railroads in Peru. For a complete roster of cars and railroads sold to, check out our website at website
