1203 made its second test run to Sumpter last night with six cars, and another run today with 10 cars. No comments on the train consist, it was what was convenient to create a load with a minimum of switching. The radiators were tarped over in an effort to get the 1203's engine to full operating temperature. The loco has excess radiator capacity from its modifications by USG which were not compatitable with today's snow (sticking to the surrounding peaks). Some odds and ends left to finish (including the hood panels), final adjustments, and addressing any issues found during the test runs. With any luck, 1203 may be finally done within the next few weeks.
