Look-alikes to places on abandoned lines.

Riding the D&S and C&T the past few weeks, it occurred to me that some places on these lines look (at least at a glance) like some of the photos of other long-abandoned segments of the D&RGW NG.

For instance, there are a few stretches of the Silverton Branch where it gets quite narrow in the canyon,
looking (to me) quite a bit like the Black Canyon of the Gunnison, as seen in books and old movies.

Does anyone else ever think about this?

How about some of you that have been around long enough to have ridden the now-abandoned lines...do you ever ride the D&S or C&T and think "boy, this looks just like _______ on the ________ line".

How about Salida - Marshall Pass - Gunnison ... or Salida - Monarch?
Are there any places on todays lines that look like spots on those routes?
