Does anyone known how much wood the Mikes carried in the tenders with their tender extension racks. Did the pine cause and serious problems to the boilers and lines from the resulting pine tar. I assume that the fire from the pine resulted in a very hot engine and the engines were very good steamers. What was the maximum loads that a single or double headed mike could take over the line and the maximum number of empties that could be dragged up the mountains. Lastly in a double headed scenario did the helper run light or stay coupled to the train
