100th Anniversary of the "Short Line"

It is interesting to note that on today's 100th anniversary of the opening of the Colorado and Cripple Creek Railroad that a controversy is raging over the reopening of Tunnel #3.
In the article below, it says that some people don't trust the Forest Service for fixing the historic tunnel. They don't want more motorized traffic.
It also incorrectly states that the CS&CC was narrow gauge. Of the three railroads that once served Cripple Creek, only the Florence & Cripple Creek was narrow gauge. However, I think the extensive Interurban was narrow gauge.
I would love to see this tunnel finally reopened, and I would think that even if that stretch of today's Gold Camp Road were also opened it would not bring on a flood of traffic.
