The Circle Will Be Unbroken.....the archives

It's a slow morning waiting for the Cal-Oregon game, so I was browsing through some of the old archives. Amazing how much of what has been discussed here recently was being discussed in 2000. The need for covered storage, the sawmill site, track ballasting, problems with the reservation system, and so on. A lot of the same players, and a few we've lost. Some interesting history about the Old Dead Goat, the New Dead Goat, FRAD's, and so on. And on the very first page is a post by Jerry Sahnd of a fascinating article about the the closing of the Gomez store at Pagosa Junction. Navigating is a bit tricky, since every time you hit return to the message list you get this front page, but after a few roundabouts you figure out how to use backward and forward on your browser and the page numbers to get around. But lots of interesting history.

Don, when did you actually start this place? If you go back to the very last page there is an interesting discussion between you and me.
