After posting the NPS railroad articles in another thread I went off and was reading some of them. The article on copper mining railroads caught my eye and I read on about the Arizona Southern Railroad. The linked map below is the result of my curiosity about this short line. The end of the line has a series of switchbacks to head up Jesuit Hill. I'm not sure how much further it went from there due to the recent mining activity. Another interesting point is about midway on the line where the two short spurs are located. This is the site of the Sasco smelters and it appears that there may be some remnants left to explore. Maybe when it cools down a bit in AZ I'll try to check it out.
