Big Party at Cumbres

Tuesday evening the Friends of the C&TSRR hosted a dinner party at Cumbres Pass.

Prior to dinner, the new "kiosks" display was formally dedicated. The display will have 6 panels each with its own theme. The two panels in place show a map of the Cumbres yard area, and a series of images showing Friends restoration projects at Cumbres.

The new construction on the back side of the car repairman's house made for a good tour before or after dinner. The snowshed between the house and "three holer" has been recreated, as well as the covers for the well, chicken coop, coal bin, and goat pens. A very unusual structure indeed.

Dinner was served inside the section house, with picnic tables outside. The weather was spectacular. Cool dry, and dead calm. After dinner everyone had a great time wandering Cumbres and inspecting the latest restoration and repairs completed during this summer's work sessions.
